Replace resources on a task
- [Instructor] Replacing resources comes in handy in several situations, like replacing generic resources with real people, eliminating over-allocations, or replacing someone who is no longer on your project. We're going to start by using the Assign Resources dialog box. Go to the Resource tab and then, in the assignment section, click "Assign Resources". That opens up the Assign Resources dialog box. And it's right in the middle of the screen so let's just drag it down to the bottom right corner so it's a little bit more out of the way. Now we're going to replace a resource using this dialog box. Let's start by selecting task 11, "Identify potential sites", in the Gantt Chart view. When I select it, I'll see the task in the task form in the Details pane and also in the Assign Resources dialog box. Down in the table in the Assign Resources dialog box there is a checkmark to the left of the office manager's name because the office manager is assigned to this task. So we want to replace…
