- [Instructor] Inactive tasks available in Project Professional and Project Online desktop client are great for exploring alternative approaches for the same work or recording change requests that haven't been approved. Inactive tasks appear in the schedule, but aren't taken into account in dates, cost, or resource workloads. Let's start by applying the summary table to this view. I'm going to go to the top left corner of the table and I'm going to right-click the all cells box. And then on the shortcut menu, choose Summary. I'm also going to go to the Gantt Chart Format tab. And over in the Show/Hide section on the right side of the ribbon, turn on Project Summary Task and Summary Tasks so I can see all of the tasks in the project. Well, let's take a look at the Project Summary Task. I'm going to widen a couple of these columns so that we can see the values.
