- [Instructor] Microsoft Project offers a few ways to create new projects from scratch. Once you create a project, it's a good idea to fill in some basic information about it. And it's never too soon to build the habit, save early, save often. So one way to create a new file is to go to the a backstage. Then you can go to the new screen, and click blank project. That creates a new project file. And since we're starting off new in this session, it's called project one. Because of one of the options that we set, the project information dialogue box automatically opens up, so we can fill in things about the project, like the start date. I'll specify the date to be January 8th, 2024. Looking at the schedule from box, it's set to project start date. So that means that tasks that don't have start dates or predecessors will start on the date that we specified. It also means that Project will calculate when the project can finish.
