- While we've been using HSL controls to refine an image, you can use similar controls for a gray scale photograph. Let's actually do this here on this spacesuit image. What I'm going to do is come on over and make another version. So if I come here to snapshots, I'm going to capture a snapshot and call this color. That way I've stored my edits. Now I'm free to tweak. From the editing tab, I'm going to come up here and click black and white. That's going to turn this into a black and white photograph. Additionally, from the browser, I'm going to take a look at some of the presets we have. If I come down here to the black and white group, I really like how some of these are working. As I mouse over, I get a great interactive preview of what each one looks like. And I like this one here. Remember these also often include a strength slider, so you can refine that a little bit.
