- The landscape of organizational design is shifting. 20 or 30 years ago, most teams found themselves altogether in the same location led by leaders using a top-down approach. But things are evolving and our definition of team is expanding. All sorts of team constructs are now commonplace and more people are finding themselves on teams with people from different parts of the globe and in different pieces of the organization. Our old structured ways of organizational design are not going to suit the needs of these evolving dispersed teams. Hybrid teams are becoming a staple and that's amazing. We're finding that they have the power to innovate and create at a scale we're only just now beginning to comprehend. But these teams desperately need us to do two things to support them if they're going to thrive. First, they need us to recognize their unique needs.
