- [Narrator] System preferences gives you lots of detailed settings for your Mac, but for the most common settings that you need to access quickly, you can use the control center or you can place extra menu items in the menu at the top. In the top right corner in the menu bar I want to click this option, which opens the control center. If you use an iPhone or iPad, this might look familiar because it works almost the same as the control center there. And this gives you quick access to lots of controls, for example, you can very quickly adjust the volume level of sound on your computer. You could turn on the focus mode which disables notifications, and if you're listening to music, you can control that here. Now you might see different options here, and it depends on features that your computer has. For example, the keyboard brightness control is only there if you have a computer with a backlit keyboard.
