Use the App Store to install and update applications
- [Instructor] The easiest way to install new applications on a Mac is to use the app store that's built into Mac OS. You can buy new applications, but you can also find some free apps. If you have the app store on the dock, you can launch it from there or you can go to the system menu in the top left to open the app store. Before you can download any apps, free or otherwise, you need to sign into your apple ID. At the bottom left corner, I can see my name, which tells me that I am signed in. If you are not signed in, you'll see a button to sign in instead. You can click your name, to see some information about your account and if you do plan to buy apps that costs money, you will need to either link a credit card to your account and you can do that by clicking view information, or you will need to redeem a gift card, and you can do that from this link.
