Save files within an application
- [Instructor] In lots of applications you will need to create a new file and do some work. But in order to keep the work that you've done, you need to save that document as a file in a folder somewhere on your storage drive. I'm starting in an application that comes with macOS called a TextEdit, a very simple tool for writing documents. I've written something here, but I've not yet saved it. There are two very different ways to save a document like this, and it usually depends on whether the application was made by Apple. Now TextEdit was made by Apple so it has this really quick streamline method. You can just click up here at the top where it says untitled, and we need to give it a name. So I'll type that here in the name field, and then we need to choose where we want to save it. We can do that here in this menu. So maybe I want to save it directly on the desktop.
