- [Instructor] One of the most taxing problems in every industry is how to retain variable employees. The main concern of every employee is the salary they receive. A machine learning engineer salary usually depends on the number of years of experience working in a field. The dependent variable is salary and the independent variable is years of experience. We could conclude that there is a causal relationship between them. The more years of experience an engineer has, it is more likely that he has a higher salary. The way to explore the relationship between dependent and independent variables is by fitting a line through observed data points. That technique is called linear regression.
