Automatic feature recognition
- [Narrator] Now that we've created or opened a part in SolidWorks, we've defined the stock that the part's going to be machined from, as well as the material it's going to be machined from, we want SolidWorks to detect the different geometry that's going to be machined out of our stock. The quickest way to do that is to click the extract machinable features button in the SolidWorks cam toolbar. SolidWorks will go and automatically recognize the different geometry that we've created. If you go back to the feature tree, you'll notice we have rectangular pocket, curb feature ed break, whole group drill, with the simple part. If you expand the whole group drill item, you'll notice that each hole in our part is available and we can customize the parameters by right clicking on the item. Once we've confirmed that all of our features have been recognized by SolidWorks, we're ready to go onto the next step.
