Coordinate systems and projections - Pix4Dcapture Tutorial
From the course: Learning Pix4D Drone Mapping
Coordinate systems and projections
of the Earth make up the essential backbone of Pix4D for correctly placing images as they relate to the surface of the Earth. Choosing from a list of hundreds of coordinate systems can be daunting, yet Pix4D simplifies this process by extracting the GPS data from the images that were geotagged from the drones GPS unit and automatically places images to the proximity of where they belong in the real world. In this video you'll be provided an overview of coordinate systems and how if worked with carefully, can create a highly accurate 2D map or 3D model. Here we have already created our project So now we're in the image properties. And you can see the coordinate system and the datum which we talked about in a previous video. This is the actual coordinates that come directly off the drone from the drone's GPS, it's a Phantom 4 Pro. It's WGS 1984, so that's the mathematical elliptical sort of model of the Earth, and the coordinate system which talk about that geoid model. and choosing…
