Add a background image

- [Narrator] In addition to your profile photo, you can also add a background image, which appears appropriately behind your profile photo. A background image can be a great way to make your profile stand out or look more professional. Currently, we just have this default, generic background image here. Let's click the camera button on it, and from here, you can upload your own photo or you can choose from any of these pre-designed custom images. And you can see we have a variety of images, color patterns, or messaging that you can choose from, and because these have been designed for the background image space, they're guaranteed to look good, but there's only a limited number of them, so you may want to upload your own image to really personalize your background. When considering a background photo, again, keep in mind that LinkedIn is a professional social network, so try to find a photo that captures your professional or business personality. Maybe you have a photo of your office or a group photo of your team or colleagues, or a photo that highlights a special moment in your career. So if you have a photo in mind, we can scroll back up here and click upload photo, maybe Carmen recently spent some time working in the American Southwest, and wants to use this photo she took. And now we're looking at the photo inside an editor window that's very similar to the one we saw when we uploaded a profile photo. This rectangle represents the portion of the image that will be visible on your profile page, so take a moment to position it or zoom the image to make it look good inside this area. Again, you can apply filters or make adjustments. I like how the image already looks, so I'll just click apply. And there it is, so we've now added both a profile photo and a background image to Carmen's profile page.
