- [Instructor] Let's evaluate suspicious looking emails critically, so that you can protect your computer from malicious ransomware attacks. These are some of the common types of phishing emails that you may get, and a phishing email is called that because the email is phishing for your information. They're trying to see what kind of information or clicks they can get out of you. So here's some oldies, but goodies that I've collected over the years. This first email claims to be from Amazon Prime Reward Giveaway. Now, the first part of the email may be from them, but the first test is to look at the second half of the email that contains the domain. If this was from Amazon, it would end in amazon.com, after the @ symbol, but here I can see that it's taking me somewhere completely different. Here's another email that appears to be a little bit smarter, because this one actually contains the amazon.com logo. It also says fulfillment center. Now, right away, it doesn't pass the first…
