- A screen can be a rather chaotic place when putting graphics and texts elements on an Art board Order is brought to the chaos, when the underlying structure is a Grid. The Grid's have been around for quite a long time. It was in the early twentieth century when movements such as Bauhaus, started using grid systems for page layout. It was only now through all this systems have an equal application when it comes to screen design and are found in XD. In fact, if you study the iOS and the Android design specifications, they're pretty clear the underlying structure of a screen is a Grid. So let's take a look at how to use a Grid in XD, and to get yourself started, open the Grid XD file in your chapter download.
