- These days, so many aspects of our lives involve barcodes. From airplane tickets to movie passes to coffee shop cards, and more, you might've reached the point where you're carrying half a dozen or so plastic cards on your key chain or in your wallet. So the idea behind the wallet app in iOS is to let you store these items on your phone, which you can then easily access and scan when you need them. The only requirement is that you have an iCloud account enabled on your phone. So for example, I'll open up the wallet app and here's a movie ticket I recently used and a boarding pass I used to get on a flight earlier this year. And this pass and my ID were all I needed to get onto my flight. I didn't have to print out any paper at home or even stop at the ticket counter when I got to the airport.
