- [Instructor] You won't get very far in Illustrator if you can't target some of the objects you've got there. So let's have a look at some selection. Now, there are a few different selection tools in Illustrator, but we are only going to focus on two right now. And that would be the primary one, the selection tool. If you tap V on your keyboard, that will get you the tool at any point, although it is probably selected already just now. And with that, we can go ahead and click on things and select them. When you do use the tool, you have to click on a visible attribute. So if you look carefully, this star has no fill, and if I just click in that area, then I can't select it. The star next to it, I can. And if I go back to the star and click on the thing that I can see, the stroke, then it's easy to pick that up. You can hold down the shift key to add.
