Jury duty
- Do you get excited when you receive a jury duty notice because you enjoy performing your civic duty? Or are you like most people and cringe when you receive a summons? Well, I plead the fifth on this one, but I'm sure that if you receive one of those notices, you will have questions. Will I get paid to serve on jury duty? How much will it be? And who pays me? And if you're in HR, you will probably be first to be asked. Let's look at some information that will help arm you with some knowledge. First, jury duty is mandated by law in almost every state. However, suppose the summons to jury duty occurs at a time of the year when the employer would experience significant impact from the loss of the employee.
