- Accountability problems often occur when there aren't clearly defined ways of tracking the status of work teams are responsible for completing. We all approach our work differently, and as much as we might like to think our preferred method is the best way, what's best for you might not be best for me. Let's look at an example. Say your team is writing a report. You may have some teammates who will literally write everything they can think of on the screen and then go back and edit. Another teammate may spend more time thinking and planning as they consider every word on the screen. This person's work may not require much editing at all. And still, another teammate works best under pressure and writes their contributions the day before or even the day of the entire report being due. You can see how these different styles may work well for each individual, but could create some problems for everyone on a team deliverable.…
