- I now have the subject inside my set and I want to make one last check where they're positioned against the green screen because this is critical. So, let's go back and take a look. Now, Sarah, what I want you to do is, you're a little close to the green screen and the problem with this is we're going to get a lot of spill, and also because of the depth of field, that's going to be a little sharper than I want. So let's move you forward. And this is one of the key things to keep in mind is the distance between the background, which is the key, the green screen, your talent and your camera. And you always have to keep that in mind, that you need that proper distance so the background can stay soft, so that the talent is properly in their light and your camera can be far enough back that you can control your depth of field with your aperture, as well as your focal length.
