An overview of Google Ads

- [Narrator] Billions of times per day, people turn to Google to look up an answer to a question, discover a new place to visit, find solutions to their problems, and look for products to buy. And every search presents an opportunity to grow your business by filling the need of that consumer. Now, if you know the intent behind a need, well, then you can tailor your advertisement to persuade that consumer to take action. And you see, Google Ads is an online advertising platform that allows you to show up right when a consumer is displaying a need. It's built to put you in front of that potential customer at the right time with the right message. And you do this by identifying keywords, audiences, and even websites that are relevant to your products or services, and then bidding to show your ad in the right places. Now, to give you an example of this, I'm on google.com and I'm going to do a search for coffee subscription. You'll see, right away, there are over 400 million results. If we had launched a brand new coffee subscription website and we were using search engine optimization to try to move our site up through the organic results, we have a long road ahead of us. But with Google Ads, you can see advertisements are placed here at the top of the page. In this case, there's one ad, labeled with Ad in bold, for drinktrade.com. Now, oftentimes, you may see more ads appear at the top of the page. You may see ads along the side of the page. Ads can take up many formats on this page, but you can see that this advertisement has quite a bit of real estate at the top of the screen. And if I scroll down, I'd expect some ads at the very bottom of the listings. In this case, we have three ads here. As you can see, these ads are almost indistinguishable from the organic results, and this provides a powerful opportunity to immediately scale your marketing efforts.
