How to say no to clients
- There are a lot of times when you may want to say no to a client. You may be booked or not interested in the type of work, or you may feel like it's not a good fit for you personally. Whatever the reason, you should say no in a way that doesn't burn the bridge or hurt the client. You never know when you may want to work with a person in the future or if you have mutual relationships that could be affected. Let's talk about a few approaches you can take to let someone down easy. If you don't have time now but want to work with the client in the future, you can say I'd love to work with you, but unfortunately I'm totally booked until this month. Are you open to getting started at that time, or can I follow up with you then? This tells the client you're interested in working together but helps to set expectations about your availability.
