- Storyboards are often used to enhance a pitch. So whether you're pitching a sequence for a film or TV project, pitching an advertising concept to a client, or pitching to a network or studio, storyboards and animatics are the fastest way to showcase the final look, without the time and expense of producing a finished product. The classic way of pitching storyboards consisted of pinning each storyboard panel onto a board and stepping through each one as you see in this video here. The biggest problem is that the viewer doesn't really get a feel for the pacing of the project. Plus the quality of the pitch really depends on the acting of the pitcher and can be affected by any number of outside influences like sickness or being distracted.
