- If you don't believe in what you're presenting, will your audience? Most likely not. This is why it's important for speakers to demonstrate an interest or passion for their topics. Here are some tips to help you deliver with enthusiasm. Do some vocal warm-ups. There are lots of parallels between public speaking and sports. If you were going into an athletic competition, you wouldn't just jump in and start competing. You'd warm up first. Get your vocal cords warmed up and ready for the presentation. You'll need to project your voice. Think about that person sitting in the back corner of your audience. Project so that they can comfortably hear you. Your facial expressions can help demonstrate your enthusiasm. Smile. If you find your face gets tired from smiling for long periods of time, put a little petroleum jelly on your teeth.
