- [Instructor] There are a few definitions of edge cloud, so we'll provide ours before proceeding. Edge cloud, simply put, are private clouds that operate on the edge of larger systems, typically, public cloud providers. They run within enterprise data centers, like traditional private clouds, but are dependent on a larger public cloud provider. Two examples we'll cover here are Microsoft Azure Stack and AWS Outposts, but others exist as well. Microsoft Azure Stack is a hybrid cloud platform developed by Microsoft that allows organizations to run Azure services on-premise or at the edge. The Azure Stack brings the functions of Azure Cloud computing to data centers, enabling organizations to build and deploy cloud applications and services consistently across their hybrid environments.
