- [Presenter] Let's go ahead and talk about some elements we need to know about software systems. So first, we should all be familiar with operating systems and this is what gives us that interface between the user and the software and the hardware that they need to access. So most operating systems are designed with network capabilities, that's where everything's happening. So we can share data, we can transfer data, we can store data, errors that happen with improper activity or action, operating systems can convey that. So just the typical operating systems. Now, I will mention that different operating systems of course, have different capability. There are operating systems that are designed for the general public, and then there are operating systems that are backend and we refer to it as backend, because we're looking at maybe the server that's running the network per se, or backend applications like databases and so on.
