- After an active period of social unrest in our community, a colleague and I decided to count the microaggressions we experienced at our jobs. In just a few hours that morning, I had already counted six. What was most surprising for me was the realization that I'd become so desensitized to being treated in a marginalized manner over the course of my career that I would've missed half of those microaggressions if I hadn't consciously decided to count each one that day. After this lesson, you will be able to identify microaggressions and be able to develop tools to reframe your own behavior to promote inclusivity within your work community.
