Step scaling
- [Instructor] With Step Scaling, after a scaling activity started, the policy continues to respond to additional alarms even while a scaling activity or health check replacement is in progress. Step Scaling allows you to add one or more step adjustments that enable you to scale based on the size of the alarm breach. I'm here at the Auto Scaling groups configuration page. As you can see, we have two instances running with a desired capacity of two, minimum of one, and maximum of three. Under the Scaling Policies tab, I removed the simple scaling policies we configured earlier. To add a Step Scaling policy, we'll click on Add Policy and then click on Create a scaling policy with steps. Let's first name this policy. We'll call it as Step Scale Out. Next, we'll select the alarm that we configured earlier called CPU more that 80. We'll take the action to add one instance when the CPUUtilization is more than 80%, or, in other words, 80 is less than the CPUUtilization. Notice that the…
