What you should know before watching this course
- [Instructor] You'll notice in this Using Tool Palettes in AutoCAD course that we use a lot of different AutoCAD DWG files. These aren't your exercise files, and they can be downloaded from Lynda.Com to be used to follow along with the videos. So you'll notice at the top of the screen right now we have the 00_Introduction.DWG file. You can download that from Lynda.Com and use it to follow along with this video, and all the other introductory videos for this particular course. Just be aware that these exercise files are native AutoCAD DWG files and they will open up in AutoCAD 2017, which is the version that we're using for this particular course. Be aware that sometimes though, much older versions of AutoCAD will not open newer DWG files. So it is worth your while making sure that when you're following along with the videos, that you're using a reasonably recent version of AutoCAD to make sure that you can open up the exercise files that you've downloaded.
Practice while you learn with exercise files
