From the course: Algorithmic Trading and Finance Models with Python, R, and Stata Essential Training (2019)

What you should know

- [Instructor] Throughout this course, I'm going to assume a few things. First of all, I'm going to assume you have some kind of basic knowledge of capital markets, meaning stocks, bonds, currencies, things like that. If you're not familiar with these areas, or if you'd like a refresher, I recommend that you check out the Understanding Capital Markets course here on LinkedIn Learning. Similarly, I'm going to assume that you have some kind of basic knowledge of algorithmic trading, at least in theory. If you'd like to learn a little bit more about this area and deepen your knowledge, I recommend my first course on algorithmic trading, which is called Algorithmic Trading and Stocks Essential Training. Again, right here on LinkedIn Learning. And then finally, it'll be helpful if you have a little bit of knowledge of some sort of programming language. Any language will do. All of the software we're going to use throughout this course is cross-platform, so it'll work on Windows machines, Apple machines, or just about anything else. With that said, if you have all these things at hand, you'll be in great shape.
