From the course: AI-Driven Software Development with OpenAI’s Canvas

Get ready to prompt differently with canvas

- So far, the way you engineer prompts has remained pretty stable. You ask AI chat bots a question and you get a reply that feels like a back and forth conversation. But now OpenAI has released a totally new approach to prompting called Canvas. Although we've seen something similar in other tools, Canvas has some unique differences, making prompting less chat-based and more document-focused. With Canvas, you prompt ChatGPT, and you get an interactive document. You can edit or select content in the reply and ask ChatGPT to modify just the selection. That's something we haven't seen before. The tool has two modes, one for writers and one for developers. So first I'm going to show you the writing tools and then focus on how Canvas gives you new tools to review code, fix bugs, and much more. The age of AI is changing how developers work once again, and with Canvas, it's time to retool. So let's do this.
