Apply the track to a matte
- Okay, so in the previous lessons we've taken some detours to learn quite a bit about how to get a track to stick to the sofa. Now it's time to actually apply the track to the mask which was the whole point. And ideally what we're doing here takes just a few minutes so lets just take those few minutes now to do that. As you may know you can't apply a track directly to a mask in AfterEffects as it is. So you need to come up with another solution. The most straightforward one that I recommend is to create another layer and apply the mask to that and then use it as a track mat. So we'll do exactly that. I'll just call this Track Mat Sofa and it's gonna make this big white screen for me. So I'll just turn it off and grab the mask from the layer that's holding it right now, cut and paste it and note that my solid was exactly the same size as the source. So the position and everything matches. And to pick up the motion, now all we have to do is the same thing we did with the reference…
