Smart aggregation: Resolve

- [Instructor] Our second Smart Aggregation Rule is Resolve. Resolve is closely-related to the Replicate Rule. This rule states that it will resolve aggregations to the measure's native level of detail. What that essentially means is that if you put subtotals in a view, it's not going to aggregate incorrectly. It won't add up those replicated views that we created in the last lesson. With a regular join, this would be even more extra aggregation that isn't native to your actual data source. First, we have extra aggregation because of our join. If we added subtotals to a regular, improperly joined view, it would actually exacerbate the problem of over-aggregation even further. With the Resolve Smart Aggregation Rule, it will resolve the aggregations to the measure's native level of detail, so it won't over-aggregate.
