- [Narrator] Now that you're familiar with the different rack types, let's discuss one of the advanced rack features zone editors. So I've got the zone editors project open, and on this first track I've got two virtual instruments in this rack. Now the one on top is a pad and the one on the bottom is really a base sound. And when I play something, it sounds actually pretty bad. (somber music) So what I really need to do is I need to define an area on the keyboard where the base sound is going to work, and then a different area on the keyboard where the pad will work. And that's called a key split. Now if we look at the main part of this rack here, you'll notice that there are three buttons above the device change that we see here. And one of those buttons says key. And if we open that up, we see one of our zone editors, and this is the key zone editor. So if you look across the top here, it looks like a keyboard and we can see the MIDI note names for the different octaves of C. So…
