Adding a Bevel modifier
- [Voiceover] Another primary way of creating a 3D object from a 2D spline is through extrusion. When you extrude something, you make a copy of it and offset it and then join the two copies together to create some thickness. An extrude modifier will work in this situation; however, if we want better results, we'll use a bevel modifier. And I'll show you both. Now the values for these modifiers will work best for a larger object. I'm going to scale this object up. And in order to do that without changing the actual scale value, I'm going to scale it at the sub-object level. So if I select it and then activate the Select and Uniform Scale tool, we will see a value of 100% down here. And we want it to remain at 100%. So I'm going to scale it at the sub-object level. Go over to the modify panel and open up the editable spline object, and go into Spline Object Mode, select all of the splines. We want to scale them and maintain the relationship. Make sure that we're using the selection…
