Using UVs to select vertices
- [Instructor] Hi, I'm George Maystry today we going to take a look at some ways to select parts of your mesh very discreetly using the UV editor. Now, when you rig characters, there are a lot of times when you're painting weights and you need to get into little nooks and crannies of your character to select vertices or paint weights or do whatever. And I find UV editor a great way to do that. So let's zoom into this character's hand which is always a problem area when we rig. So if I select this character and right click and go into Vertex let's say I want it to select all the vertices in here right around the joints of these two fingers. Well, in order to really properly select them I could basically shift, select all the vertices. If I draw a box around it, the problem with that is that it will get back facing vertices. So a lot of times it's very difficult to get in here to get exactly the vertices that you want…
