Migration from legacy job sources to API with Apply Connect

Last updated: 3 weeks ago

LinkedIn’s Apply Connect is an integration that enables your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to send job postings directly to LinkedIn via API. By using Apply Connect, you gain several advantages:

  • Real-time job posting updates: Any changes to your job postings are reflected immediately on LinkedIn.
  • Attract more qualified candidates: Leverage LinkedIn’s Easy Apply feature for onsite applications.
  • Apply Connect In-ATS widgets: For signed-in Recruiter customers, this widget shows a real-time summary of Easy Apply candidates' LinkedIn profiles and how they match your job posting, directly within the ATS.
  • Application status notifications: Close the loop with job seekers by providing timely updates.

Here's a tip

Apply Connect is available on numerous ATS platforms. To find out if your ATS supports Apply Connect and learn how to activate it, visit Activate Apply Connect in your ATS.

Migration process

Upon activating Apply Connect, LinkedIn initiates the migration of your job ingestion source from legacy methods (career site scraping or XML feeds) to API job postings. Here’s what to expect during the migration:

  • Quality check: Jobs sent through the API will undergo a quality assessment.
  • Continued legacy posting: Until the API jobs pass the quality check, your existing jobs from the legacy source will continue to be posted on LinkedIn.
  • Automatic transition: Once the API job meets quality standards, your legacy job source will be automatically disabled and real-time job posting via API will begin.

Important to know

If you enable the Easy Apply setting for Apply Connect in your ATS, the Easy Apply feature will be activated for your jobs on LinkedIn as soon as they are sent through the API, regardless of the migration status.

End of support for legacy job sources

If your ATS offers Apply Connect, we strongly recommend activating it to transition from legacy job sources and take advantage of real time job posting. Note the following:

  • Discontinuation of legacy support: After an ATS has launched Apply Connect, LinkedIn will no longer support legacy career site scraping or receiving jobs via XML feeds from customers using that ATS.
  • Right to revoke legacy services: LinkedIn reserves the right to revoke support for any legacy career site scraping or XML feeds at any time.

Handling error messages

If you encounter any of the following messages on your ATS platform within two weeks of enabling Apply Connect, contact LinkedIn Support to review your API and legacy job sources:

  • MIGRATION_MISSING_SCRAPED_JOB
  • MIGRATION_MISSING_JOB_POSTING

For more information on LinkedIn job error states, refer to Job posting status errors.

Job Wrapping

Apply Connect is compatible with Job Wrapping. Jobs posted via Apply Connect can be wrapped into paid job slots using LinkedIn Recruiter’s Job Wrapping functionality.
