Actions admins can take to manage user licenses in Recruiter

Last updated: 2 months ago

LinkedIn Recruiter user and license management admins can take a variety of actions to manage user licenses, such as park a license, reassign a license, assign a license to a new user, and more.

Admins manage licenses, permissions, and roles for users based on the user's role in the sourcing and hiring process.

Who can use this feature?

Only user and license management admins can manage users on your Recruiter contract. To better secure your account, we encourage you to add a back-up admin by assigning admin permissions to a current or new user. This allows an additional user to manage your contract if you depart the company or go on extended leave. You can assign admin permissions to users with the Hiring Manager role without using a paid license.

The number of times a license can be reassigned, assigned, and parked each month is limited. This limit varies per contract. For example, an organization with 15 seats is allowed to park 15 licenses, assign 15 licenses, and reassign 15 licenses every 30 days. License action limits (reassign, assign, park) are tracked separately from one another.

Here's a tip

An open license must be available to assign, reassign, or restore (unpark) a license to a user. Please contact your LinkedIn Relationship Manager to change the number of licenses on your Recruiter contract.

The table below provides details on the various actions admins can take in LinkedIn Admin Center under User and license management.

Action Description
Assign a license to a new user Invite new users to Recruiter. New users need to activate their license in order to access Talent Hub and collaborate with other users.
Park a license Temporarily deactivate a license and keep the user's work. All work can be restored to the original user or reassigned to a new user.
Deactivate (remove) a license and remove user from dashboard Deactivate (remove) a license and delete the user from the dashboard by assigning ‘No License’ to an existing user.
Restore (unpark) a license Reactivate a parked license and assign it back to the original user.
Reassign a license Reassign a user's work to another user. This will deactivate the former user's license. The following information will be reassigned to the new user: pending message responses, received and archived messages, message templates, open jobs, unarchived and archived projects, saved searches, and notes.
Assign a different license type to an existing user Grant an existing user a different license type.
