Recruiter System Connect (RSC) is an integration between LinkedIn Recruiter and your Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Two of the most common workflow challenges for talent professionals are toggling back and forth between different systems and understanding the candidate hiring process from sourcing to hire. RSC solves these challenges by integrating Recruiter with your ATS to simplify your hiring process.
In order to achieve the most streamlined and efficient workflow across systems, we recommend activating both RSC and CRM Connect. By connecting both your ATS and CRM to LinkedIn, you access the most holistic view of your hiring funnel, seeing information across all systems as you make decisions and collaborate with your team in LinkedIn Recruiter. We believe this more holistic approach to be more effective than integrating just one system.
These two integrations can seem duplicative but if we break it down, one is for prospecting and one is for applicants and they work very well together. Additionally, here are some key differences between the two:
- CRM Connect syncs the following data from your CRM to LinkedIn, which RSC doesn't:
- Email interactions
- Prospecting Pipelines
- Pipeline Stages
- RCS syncs the following data from your ATS to LinkedIn, which CRMC doesn't:
- Job Applications
- Application Stages
We are aware that your ATS may integrate with your CRM. CRM Connect is not designed to pull in key ATS information like applications and hiring stages. Thus, CRM Connect is not a reliable solution for rediscovering candidates based on past applications tracked in the ATS.
Important to know
For all customers with one or more Recruiter Corporate or Recruiter Professional Service (RPS) seats, RSC is included as part of your Recruiter license at no additional cost. Some ATS providers charge customers an implementation fee as a part of their standard business practice; however, there is no fee from LinkedIn. Check with your ATS provider for further details.
RSC is available for all Recruiter Corporate or Recruiter Professional Service (RPS) seats as part of your Recruiter License. Recruiter Lite Customers are not eligible for RSC, but if you would like to learn more about Recruiter Corporate or Recruiter Professional Service, contact our sales team.
To set up the RSC integration, users must have admin permissions on their Recruiter contract. Permissions in RSC are based on permissions in Recruiter. View the full list of who can Access RSC features based on a user’s license and permissions in Recruiter.
ATS instructions for active partners are available on our RSC website. If you have followed all steps and are still unable to use RSC, check with your ATS provider to validate that RSC has been successfully set up with the ATS. If you require further assistance, please contact us or your LinkedIn CSM.
Your Recruiter dashboard may not be correctly linked to your company’s page on LinkedIn. Please contact us with a description of the error for assistance.
Yes, you can set up multiple RSC integrations with multiple ATS partners. You may set up RSC in any of the following ways:
- Connect >1 ATS system to 1 Recruiter dashboard
- Connect 1 ATS system to multiple Recruiter dashboards
- Connect multiple instances of the same ATS to 1 ATS dashboard
Each ATS has a different activation process. You can find ATS instructions for active partners on our RSC website.
In most cases, InMail history should be synced from LinkedIn to your ATS. You can check that InMail History is enabled for RSC in your Product settings, by navigating to Product settings -> ATS and CRM Integrations. This allows InMail messages to be moved from LinkedIn to the ATS. You will be able to see the message content, date, and time the InMail was sent. Only the first InMail message will be displayed, not the entire conversation. InMails are also visible in the LinkedIn Profile Widget, under the Recruiting Activities tab. Note that the Profile Widget only displays the contents of messages if you sent or received the message; if the message was sent or received by another recruiter, you will only see the record of the InMail, the associated timestamp, and whether the InMail was accepted. If you are unable to see InMail messages, please reach out to your ATS representative for help.
An ATS can choose to exclude the interview feedback and notes features from the Recruiter dashboard. Reach out to your ATS representative to confirm if these features aren’t included in the dashboard.
Your ATS may have also enabled Security Groups which could prevent you from seeing these features. You can only see interview feedback, notes, and job statuses for the jobs that you have access to within your ATS. Bond Adapt, Comeet, Dynamics ATS, Greenhouse, JobDiva, Oracle Recruiting, SmartRecruiters and Workable currently have security groups in place. Reach out to your ATS representative to ensure your profile is linked to the correct security group.
To learn more about what recruiting activities are shared with your ATS, see Recruiter System Connect profile widget.
The information you can view on the profile widget depends on whether you’re signed into a Recruiter account, and if RSC is enabled. You must be signed in to Recruiter with a RSC-enabled dashboard in order to view all information within the profile widget.
This happens when candidates have not been synced from the ATS to Recruiter. To initiate this sync, please contact your ATS representative.
Additionally, the candidate may also not have been matched if we were unable to map them to a LinkedIn profile via email address. You can attempt a manual match within the Profile Widget in your ATS in the ‘LinkedIn’ tab, if allowed by your ATS.

Some ATSs, including Bond Adapt, Comeet, Dynamics ATS, Greenhouse, JobDiva, Oracle Recruiting, SmartRecruiters and Workable, create security groups to restrict unauthorized users from viewing job or candidate information. If your ATS implements security groups, you will need to have access to jobs and applications within the ATS in order to view them on LinkedIn. Reach out to your ATS representative to confirm you’re connected and linked to the correct security group for the job(s) you are trying to export.
Jobs must be synced from your ATS to LinkedIn in order to be available for 1-Click Export. If security groups are not in place, or if you suspect a job has not been successfully synced to LinkedIn, reach out to your ATS support representative to verify if the job was sent.

Some ATSs, including Greenhouse, Workable, and SmartRecruiters, create security groups to restrict unauthorized users from viewing job or candidate information. If an ATS implements security groups, your Recruiter account may need to be connected from within the ATS. Your account also needs to be aligned to the correct security group within your ATS to take specific actions from your LinkedIn dashboard. Reach out to your ATS representative to confirm you’re connected and linked to the correct security group for the job(s) you are trying to export.
Job posting data also needs to be synced from your ATS to LinkedIn. This allows LinkedIn to match candidates with the correct job IDs within your ATS. Job posting data must be published by your ATS and then synced with LinkedIn. LinkedIn then matches candidates with the correct job requisition, which will allow you to successfully export candidates.
You can view tags, including a Do not contact tag where applicable, from your ATS in Recruiter. To view tags in the Talent pool or Pipeline tab of a project in Recruiter:
- In the Activity row of the candidate’s profile card, move your cursor over In ATS to see tags.
- Click the candidate’s profile and expand the Recruiting Tools section to see tags.
To change ATSs, you can find ATS instructions for active partners on our RSC website. If you want to remove your existing ATS integration before changing to a new ATS, please contact us for assistance.
If there is ever a time when you’d like to disable the Recruiter System Connect integration or remove this data, you can request to disable or explicitly delete your ATS data at any time by contacting ltsatsintegrations@linkedin.com. When submitting the request to disable, please include written approval from the dashboard admin, dashboard ID, as well as the reason for disablement.
Make sure to close the active jobs in your ATS before your request to disable RSC. After RSC is disabled, you can no longer use RSC to close your jobs. You’ll also need to reopen them once RSC is disabled. Additionally, reach out to your ATS to notify them the integration has been disabled so that they stop calling our APIs.
