Spotlights in Recruiter and Recruiter Lite

Last updated: 1 month ago

Spotlights help you prioritize candidates who are more likely to engage with you and your organization, based on activity, interests, and relationship insights from LinkedIn. Spotlights are available within LinkedIn Recruiter and Jobs and LinkedIn Recruiter Lite. You can filter your search results or applicant pool using Spotlights at the top of the search results page and at the top of the Applicants page.

Spotlights vary based on the different types of candidate relationships and interactions on LinkedIn. You can filter for a specific spotlight to view that set of members or you can apply multiple Spotlight filters at once. You may see approximate counts for your Spotlight results, depending on the number of results.

Who can use this feature?

LinkedIn Recruiter users have unlimited access to all spotlights. LinkedIn Recruiter Lite users have access to 2 spotlights: “Have company connections” and “Interested in your company”. LinkedIn Recruiter users who have also purchased LinkedIn Learning Hub have access to the “interested in internal roles” filter within the Internal Candidates spotlight.

Examples of spotlights in Recruiter and Recruiter Lite are available in the table below.

Spotlight Description
Open to work This spotlight highlights candidates who match your search criteria and have indicated that they're open to hearing from recruiters. These candidates have opted to privately share their career interests with Recruiter users and are interested in hearing about new opportunities. This spotlight is available in Recruiter only.
Active talent This spotlight helps you uncover candidates who are more active on LinkedIn and more likely to respond to Recruiter outreach based on their profile activity. This includes members who recently updated their LinkedIn profiles, chose to share a resume with recruiters, have been in their current roles longer than the average tenure of similar roles at their current organization, or work at an organization with recent layoffs. This spotlight is available in Recruiter only.

Note: The Active talent spotlight may show candidates who don't have the "Active Talent" Interest on their profile, however these results still indicate candidates whose profiles and activity suggest a likeliness to respond to recruiter outreach.
Have company connections This spotlight identifies candidates who are 1st-degree connections of employees at your organization.
Interested in your company This spotlight highlights candidates who selected "I'm interested" in future roles at your company or interacted with your company's content, including following the company page, or liking, sharing, or commenting on your company's posts. This is measured across your entire employer brand, including your LinkedIn Page, company updates, and Sponsored Content. This includes all Sponsored Content campaigns for Marketing and Talent Solutions. This spotlight shows results for the Company ID associated with that specific contract.
Rediscovered candidates This spotlight helps you easily spot candidates your team has previously interacted with that match your existing search criteria. This includes candidates with previous InMail activity or who have either been saved into a project folder or applied to a job at your organization. If you have Recruiter System Connect (RSC) enabled, you’ll also see applicants from your ATS. Although the “Past applicants” spotlight has been upgraded to the “Rediscovered candidates” spotlight, you can still filter by candidates who have applied to your organization in the past. To access past applicants, navigate to Advanced search at the bottom of the left rail and select Past applicants under the Recruiting & candidate activity section. This spotlight is available in Recruiter only.
Internal candidates This spotlight highlights candidates who match your search criteria, currently work at your organization, and have been in their role for at least 6 months. When you add an internal candidate to your pipeline, an Internal candidate tag appears on their candidate profile card. If your organization is a LinkedIn Learning Hub customer, you can filter for internal candidates who have explicitly opted in to share their interest in internal roles either from My Career Journey in LinkedIn Learning, Jobs Home preferences on LinkedIn.com, or from their very own LinkedIn profile. If you want to view interested candidates across affiliated companies, you can enable and manage this view within Product settings under Manage your Company. This spotlight is available in Recruiter only.
