Access your LinkedIn API access token for your Google Tag Manager Conversions API integration

Last updated: 2 months ago

To integrate Google Tag Manager with Conversions API, you might need your LinkedIn API access token to complete your set up.

Important to know

Update your Google Tag Manager tags to avoid data streaming interruptions - If you added an access token to your Google Tag Manager tags before November 2024, it’ll expire one year after creation. This will stop your data from streaming until it’s renewed. We recommend updating your tags now using the steps below to avoid any disruptions. Once these steps are completed, new tokens will no longer expire.

Please note, you’ll also need to reauthenticate your token if the LinkedIn member who authenticated the integration leaves your organization. You’ll need to reauthenticate with a LinkedIn member who is a part of your organization.

To find your LinkedIn API access token:

  1. Sign in to Campaign Manager.

  2. If you need to switch accounts, click the account name in the upper-left corner of the page and select the correct account name from the dropdown.

  3. Click Analyze on the left menu, then click Sources

  4. Select Google Tag Manager, then click Generate token and follow the on-screen instructions for access.

  5. Click the code to copy, then click Close.

Here's a tip

LinkedIn doesn’t store the token, so we recommend that you save it in an easily accessible and secure place.

To authenticate or reauthenticate your token in Google Tag Manager:

  1. After you copy your access token from Campaign Manager, go to your Google Tag Manager server container.

  2. Edit each of your LinkedIn Conversions API tags with the new LinkedIn API access token.
