Where you live in the world is an important part of your LinkedIn profile. This topic tells you how to use a screen reader to add your location to your profile. We have tested the topic with JAWS, Narrator, NVDA in Microsoft Edge, VoiceOver, the built-in iOS screen reader, and TalkBack, the built-in Android screen reader which adheres to common accessibility standards and techniques. Different screen readers and web browsers might behave differently.

To add your location with screen reader support:

To open the Me menu on the LinkedIn homepage, press the Tab key until you hear “Me button, collapsed,” and then press Enter.

To open your profile, press the Tab key until you hear “View Profile,” and then press Enter. Your profile page opens.

To open your profile intro, press the Tab key until you hear “Edit intro button,” and then press Enter. The Edit intro pop-up window opens.

To edit your location, press the Tab key until you hear “Country/Region,” and then type the location.

To edit your postal code, press the Tab key until you hear “Postal code,” and then type the code.

To finish editing your location, perform one of the following:
- To save your changes, press the Tab key until you hear “Save button,” and then press Enter.
- To close the Edit contact info pop-up window, press Esc.
- To exit without saving, press the Tab key until you hear “Dismiss button,” and then press Enter.

To exit the Edit intro pop-up window, press Esc.
The Edit intro pop-up window closes and the focus returns to your profile page.
To add your location with screen reader support:

Open the LinkedIn mobile app. By default, the focus is on the Menu button in the upper-left corner of the screen, and you hear “Access my profile and other navigation links.” If you hear something else, swipe left until you hear “Menu button.”

To open the menu, double-tap the screen. You hear “Close menu button.”

To open your profile, swipe right once, and then double-tap the screen. You hear “Back button.”

To open your profile intro, swipe right until you hear “Edit intro button,” and then double-tap the screen. The Edit intro pop-up window opens, and you hear “Close button.”

To add your location, swipe right until you hear “Use current location button,” and then double-tap the screen. If you hear “Allow LinkedIn to use your location,” swipe right until you hear “Allow Once” or “Allow While Using App,” depending on your preference, and then double-tap the screen. If you hear this question, you need to swipe right until you hear “Use current location button” again, and then double-tap the screen to confirm. The LinkedIn mobile app fills in your country or region, postal code, and city information using your device’s location service.

To finish editing your location, perform one of the following:
- To save your changes, swipe right until you hear “Save button,” and then double-tap the screen.
