Increasing Your Privacy as a Teen on LinkedIn

Here are a few things to consider if you'd like more privacy:

Select what others can see when you've viewed their profile: If you've looked at another member's profile, that member may be able to see your name and profile headline. By changing this setting to "anonymous," the other person will only see you as "LinkedIn member" instead of your name.
Turn on/off your activity broadcasts: If you don't want your connections to see when you make changes to your profile, follow companies, and so on, just uncheck this option.
Select the types of messages you're willing to receive: You can adjust your communication settings to only receiving messages from connections. This will keep recruiters and other members from contacting you. You cannot stop receiving messages from your 1st-degree connections. However, you can block a member to prevent them from interacting with you.
Select who can send you invitations: By changing this setting to "Only people who appear in your Imported Contacts list," only people whose emails you've given us will be able to send you an invitation to connect. Alternatively, if you change this setting to "Only people who know your email address or appear in your Imported Contacts list", people who have the emails you've listed can also send you an invitation to connect.
Turn on/off group invitations: Unchecking this option means you won't get any invitations to join groups.

Finally, as noted in our User Agreement, and pursuant to Section 22581 of the California Business and Professions Code, you can remove or ask us to remove content and information you posted on our services, such as articles, activity feed updates, Group comments, or profile entries. Please note that there may be situations when content or information you shared is not completely removed, such as, for example, when someone else copied it, or if we need to preserve it in connection with an investigation, or the information was aggregated with other data and anonymized.
