We strongly recommend that you only accept invitations to connect from people you know, because 1st-degree connections are given access to any information you’ve displayed on your profile. You can control who can send you invitations from the Who can reach you section of your Settings & Privacy page.
Important to know
To access your invitations, click the Notifications icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. Any pending invitations will be displayed near the top of the page. You can accept, ignore, or report invitations as spam, as well as view and reply to invitation messages.

Click the
Notifications icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. -
Click Accept to add the person as one of your 1st-degree connections.
If you don't see this option, you may already be connected. Once an invitation to connect is accepted, you can remove that connection at any time.

Click Invitations to view all pending invitations.

From the Invitations dropdown, select People, Events, Pages or Newsletters.

You can filter for one of the following options:
- All invitations
- Same company
- Same school
- Mutual connections
If a pending invitation includes a personal message from the sender, click the arrow icons to view the entire message and click Reply to [member's name] to reply.

Click Ignore to remove the invitation without accepting it.
- The sender won't be notified that you've ignored their invitation, so they may try to connect with you again.

Click Invitations to view all pending invitations.

You can filter for one of the following options:
- All invitations
- Same company
- Same school

Note: After accepting a pending invitation, common connections if any, with the member will appear as suggested connections.
If you don't know the person who sent you the invitation, you can also select the I don't know this person option that appears after you click Ignore.

Tap the
Notifications tab in the navigation bar. -
Pending invitations (if any) are displayed under the Invitations section.

Tap Accept or Ignore under the invitation.
- After accepting a pending invitation, common connections if any, with the member will appear as suggested connections.

Tap View invitations you sent under the Invitations dropdown to see all sent invitations.
- If you have no invitations, tap Invitations.
Important: Withdrawing an invitation will stop any further reminder emails to the recipient. The person you invited won't get notified that you withdrew the invite. If the recipient has already accepted your invitation to connect, you still have the option to remove the connection.

Note: The ability to unblock or view your blocked invitations is not available.
