Who are the latest ConTech startups getting funding? 💰 ITpipes, a Seattle-based startup, raised $20M. The company develops software that helps municipalities manage the maintenance of underground assets, including sewer and storm systems. ITpipes' technology streamlines the collection, analysis, and management of pipeline inspections, and is used by over 300 municipalities. Actuate, a New York startup, raised $11.5M in funding to advance its computer vision software for remote video guarding. This AI-driven solution enhances monitoring, threat detection, and site safety, particularly in the construction industry, which faces $400 million in equipment theft annually. Branch Energy, a Houston startup, raised $10.8M in Series A funding for its vertically integrated demand management software and on-site battery systems. Their solution charges batteries during low-cost periods and discharges during high prices, offering a cost-effective energy solution with 36 month contracts. I've had many great role models along the way (you know who you are) but my spark was in the hydraulics lab at Brighton Polytechnic, I can still see the glass pipes with the coloured fluid and the various pumps, meters and gauges ready to be used. #nationalengineeringday #fluidhydraulics
