  • Please join us in congratulating Dr. Navaneeth Kumar on his new leadership role as the Executive Medical Director of Primary Care Services and Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Kumar began his leadership career at Yuma Regional Medical Center in 2021 as the Medical Director of Family Medicine and Primary Care Outcomes, Director of Clinical Informatics, Primary Care and Associate Program Director of YRMC’s Family Medicine Residency program. He will continue to foster the growth and recognition of our residency program. After completing his residency in Yuma, Dr. Kumar joined YRMC’s Family Medicine Residency program as a faculty member and practiced as a hospitalist for 3 years before transitioning to outpatient family medicine. His primary areas of medical interest include population health, clinical informatics, and graduate education. He is also a certified Epic physician builder. Dr. Kumar is a true physician champion; consequently, he has made significant EHR improvements and streamlined efficiencies in the primary care realm. Dr. Kumar and his family are deeply rooted in our community, and we are inspired by their commitment and dedication to our patients and their families. We applaud Dr. Kumar in his new leadership role and are excited about the future of primary care in our community.

Presentation categories included: ⚬ Clinical/Patient Safety Excellence ⚬ Collaborative Excellence ⚬ Operational Excellence ⚬ Patient Experience/Customer Service Excellence ⚬ Sustainability Excellence While we will announce the judges' picks at our Quality Hall of Fame Awards Reception on October 9th, they are all winners in our books! • After a decade of dedicated service to YRMC and our community, Senior VP and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Trudie Milner, PhD, will retire in late September. Dr. Milner began her career with YRMC in 2014 as the Director of Orthopedic Services and Rehabilitative Services department before being promoted to Administrative Director in 2015. She became YRMC’s first Chief Operating Officer in January 2021. While her contributions are extensive, a few notable projects include supporting and building a robust Institutional Research program at YRMC, overseeing and developing YRMC Foothills Medical Plaza, and cultivating a partnership with Flinn Foundation – which brought numerous educational opportunities and internships and millions in grant dollars to our area. Dr. Milner also worked directly with Arizona Western College to build the workforce development strategy, paving the future for local healthcare professionals. Dr. Milner has represented YRMC on the state, national and international level. She is a published author and a TEDx speaker. Dr. Milner, thank you! We wish you a happy retirement!

  • Special thanks to everyone who joined the Foundation of YRMC and the Advokate Foundation yesterday in raising awareness and showing support for our local pediatric cancer patients, survivors, and their families. The #GoGold lighting ceremony marked the start of a month-long campaign to light the hospital gold each night as a tribute to Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Last night was such a special occasion and showed that, in this community, we fight childhood cancer together. If you would like to purchase a #GoGold heart necklace please reach out to the Foundation office at foundation@yumaregional.org or call 928-336-7045. All proceeds go towards providing financial assistance to local families experiencing a childhood cancer diagnosis. Please visit the Foundation of YRMC’s Pediatric Oncology Support webpage for more information or to refer someone for assistance. https://lnkd.in/g2j53cFZ

  • For the month of September, YRMC will go GOLD in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. On Wednesday, September 4th, the Foundation of YRMC is partnering with AdvoKATE to gather for a heartwarming lighting ceremony to raise awareness and show support for pediatric cancer patients, survivors and their families. The community is invited to join us at 6:30 pm at the YRMC Cancer Center Serenity Garden (2375 Ridgeview Dr, across from the main hospital entrance). YRMC Spiritual Care will begin the ceremony with a prayer and information/resources will be available from the Foundation of YRMC’s Pediatric Oncology Committee, AdvoKATE and the Cancer Resource Center. After illuminating individual necklaces and candles, attendees will walk around the exterior of the hospital to the Emergency Department, which will also be illuminated in gold. This event marks the start of a month-long campaign to light the hospital gold each night as a tribute to Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The display visually represents YRMC’s dedication to supporting families in our community. If you are unable to attend, we invite you to donate to the Foundation of YRMC’s Pediatric Oncology Support Fund. For more information, contact the Foundation of YRMC at foundation@yumaregional.org or call 928-336-7045.
