2024 has been an incredible year for Young Professionals in Social Value! As many of you know, #YPSV is a free networking group, run by a group of volunteers, to help put on the networking events, run the mentoring schemes, organise ticket competitions and deliver the series of thought leadership events. Thank you to everyone who joined the #YPSV session yesterday at The Social Value Institute Conference 2024 on supporting the next generation of social value leaders As the social value sector continues to grow, it presents huge opportunities for young talent. We explored how young professionals can take ownership of their development and how organisations can foster a supportive environment. 🌟 Mentorship, inspiring leadership and trust were highlighted as key factors to success by panellists. Other key takeaways included: 👔 Formalise social value roles: pathways are exceedingly important, the wider industry should consider how social value roles could be formalised 📝 Company one-pagers to explain what social value means: social value can be used in various contexts and is influenced by different drivers for each company. Jargon is used and companies should make what social value means to them clear 📈 Clear career progression routes within organisations 💰 Invest and embed: companies must invest in their social value and ensure that social value is embedded throughout the organisation.
