Modular autonomy technology, making any aircraft autonomous #uncrewed #uas #autonomousaviation
About us
Xwing is the industry's leading supplier of modular autonomy technology for aviation. Our adaptable systems are designed to seamlessly integrate with a wide range of aircraft, providing the ability to safely operate ground-supervised, uncrewed aircraft in any airspace. Xwing’s autonomous flight system brings aviation into a new autonomous era. We collaborate with cutting-edge aircraft manufacturers to integrate autonomous flight capabilities into their product offerings. This empowers operators to tackle missions that would otherwise be unattainable, impractical, or cost-prohibitive with traditional piloted operations. From logistics to aerial firefighting, Xwing’s certifiable solution provides safety and flexibility, unlocking new possibilities. As the first, and only company, certifying a large, uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) with the FAA, Xwing is at the forefront of enabling autonomous operations throughout all flight stages, without the need for a pilot onboard. Our use of AI is targeted to specific applications that maximize the safety and needed redundancy of our system. Founded in 2016, Xwing is based in Northern California with offices in San Francisco and Concord, CA. Our team comes from the best of aerospace, technology, and aviation to create a unique culture that pushes the boundaries of innovation while respecting the need for a firm foundation of aviation knowledge. We’ve been featured in TIME Magazine’s Best Innovations, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Transportation Company and World Changing Ideas. Visit Xwing.com to learn more. Are autonomous aircrafts the future of Agile Combat Employment (ACE)? We think so 👍 ICYMI here’s a few stats from our recent Agile Flag 24-1 participation: 🤖 2,800 autonomous flight miles flown through public and military airspace 🛬 8 airports to deliver essential cargo (6 of these airports we had never landed at before) ⏱️ 24 hr of mission time ✈ 22 hours of flight time ✅ Demonstrate our mission-ready autonomy technology is ready to enable on-demand dispersed logistics 👉 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gMN-JAqq #AirForce #autonomous #defense #aviation
Distinct from what the Air Force is trying to achieve with autonomous technology for Collaborative Combat Aircraft, which aims to team manned fighters with unmanned “wingmen,” the tech on display at Agile Flag seeks to leverage autonomy to support logistics and to adapt any available aircraft into a pilot-less one. #AirForce #USAF #Airman #SpaceForce #Guardian

Do you need a C130 or even a pilot to deliver parts that are grounding an aircraft or keeping a communications or weapons system from working? Xwing has proven that, in fact, you don’t. Retrofitting existing fleets of small aircraft fill immediate capability gaps for forward logistics missions when requirements exceed small drone range and payload and use of traditional large airframes is inefficient or unnecessarily risky. Our autonomous Cessna Caravan successfully flew multiple on-demand cargo delivery missions during the recent AGILE FLAG 24-1 exercise. With over 2,800 miles of autonomous flight hours delivering mission-critical cargo to 8 different military and civilian airports across California. See Thomas Newdick's latest article via The War Zone where Air Mobility Command (AMC) Commander Gen. Mike Minihan and others discuss how smaller and autonomous aircraft are part of a next-generation fleet as AMC looks toward conflict in the Pacific theater. https://lnkd.in/gjCmknuX #airforce #defense #autonomous #aviation

Xwing gained significant traction as dual-use technology with the success and scale of our first autonomous cargo missions for the Air Force. "The maturity of [Xwing’s autonomous flight system] allowed us to get to the point where the military felt comfortable that we could not only demonstrate the technology, but actually use it." Fred Cromer, Xwing CEO ICYMI: Recently, the Air Force granted Xwing military approval to fly over 2,800 miles of fully autonomous cargo missions in one of our Cessna Caravans to 8 airports throughout California. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gMN-JAqq Xwing is also in full swing to certify our system, as the FAA’s only active project for standard category uncrewed aircraft systems. FAA certification will enable scaled commercial use of our autonomous technology. 👉 Check out the full article from Alex Fitzpatrick via Axios: https://lnkd.in/gqTqjmwp #autonomous #aviationnews #airforce #defensetech
