The current job market shows a strong demand for senior-level sustainability professionals, such as Directors, Chiefs, and consultants. Many corporations choose not to expand their central sustainability teams and instead, embed sustainability responsibilities within existing functional roles. This shift means that while there are opportunities for senior roles, many positions now integrate sustainability into functions like supply chain, finance, and R&D. To succeed in these roles, a blend of technical skills—such as GHG accounting, reporting, and data management—is essential, alongside leadership and change management abilities.
