✨ Empowered, Inspired, and Ready to Thrive! ✨ I recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Black Single-Mom Scholars - Empowering Success Program - an enriching 8-week virtual training program designed to uplift and support Black single-mom student-parents, at Won't She Do It. This transformative journey has been nothing short of life-changing. 💡 Why This Program is Unique This program wasn’t just about learning—it was about growth, collaboration, and stepping into our power as Black leaders, innovators, scholars, and change-makers. Throughout the program, I was equipped with: ✅ Tailored Coaching: I received personalized guidance that helped me set SMART goals, manage my time effectively, and embrace self-empowerment. ✅ Interactive Workshops: Engaging sessions on networking, advocacy, and resilience provided me with practical strategies to navigate the complexities of higher education and beyond. ✅ Peer Support: Building connections with an amazing group of Black single moms created a strong sense of community, solidarity, and belonging. ✅ Culturally Relevant Insights: This program celebrated our cultural heritage, empowering us to reclaim our narratives and harness our strengths. 🌟 Impact This program has not only enhanced my skills but also reaffirmed my identity and resilience as a Black woman scholar, parent, and leader. It reminded me that the challenges I face will never outshine my resilience and determination to overcome them. To anyone navigating higher education while balancing the beautiful chaos of parenting—know that there is strength in your journey and support to uplift you. A huge thank you to the Black Single-Mom Scholars Program Director Waukecha Wilkerson (She/Her), ICF ACC for creating this empowering space. And of course, thank you to my fellow cohort members!! 💞 I wish for your continued growth and success no matter what! 💪🏾 #BlackSingleMomScholars #Empowerment #HigherEducation #StudentParents #Leadership #CulturalHeritage #CommunitySupport #WontSheDoIt #YesSheWill

  • Proud moment for Won’t She Do It (WSDI)! Yesterday, our CEO, Waukecha Wilkerson (She/Her), ICF ACC facilitated a powerful policy group convening in Washington D.C. hosted by New America focused on strengthening support for student parents in higher education. We were joined by incredible partners, including The Institute for College Access & Success Institute for Women's Policy Research , National Women's Law Center , Generation Hope , The Hope Center for Student Basic Needs , and Today's Students Coalition. Together, we strategized on federal and state policies to address the unique challenges student parents face. At WSDI, we’re driven by the mission to amplify student parent voices and pave the way for policy change that creates real impact. Exciting days ahead as we turn these insights into action! #StudentParents #PolicyChange #WSDI #NewAmerica #HigherEd
