From Pencils to Passports After an extraordinary 50-year career spanning the entertainment industry as a roadie, construction (as a finish carpenter), and architecture—culminating in the last 10 remarkable years with Wilson Butler Architects—Paul Vaivoda, AIA has decided it’s time to “put down his pencil” and step into the next chapter of life: retirement. He has been an outstanding mentor and a rare embodiment of true genuineness, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him. Along with spending more time with his family, fly-fishing, hiking, tennis, and home renovation projects, travel with his wife will occupy much of his upcoming days of leisure. One of his travel goals will be to attend performances at the quintessential venues around the globe. We have a few ideas in mind but would like to hear from all of you about additional suggestions. Any suggestions?

What is an immersive experience? In a traditional theater, the performance is framed by the proscenium, often with a thrust stage extending slightly into the audience. By breaking this boundary and drawing the audience into the moment, the experience becomes more immersive. Royal Caribbean Group Celebrity Cruises

This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the magic of the performing arts—the stories that move us, the music that inspires us, and the performances that celebrate life. Here is to the designers, artists, creators, and dreamers who make it all possible, one performance at a time. And a heartfelt thank you to YOU—our followers—for supporting, celebrating, and sharing with us.

Recipe for a 175-metric-ton (386,000 lbs) Pearl on #IconoftheSeas? 💡 First it starts with an idea for an arrival experience (WBA). 👷♀️ Then it takes some creative collaboration in Finland with a brilliant structural engineering team (Meyer Turku) and meticulous technical outfitter (Mobimar Ltd). ✔️ Finally, it requires the largest kinetic sculptural installation by a group of talented Brooklyn artists (BREAKFAST). 🕐 Then you place it in a dry dock and patiently wait (about a year) for a ship to be built around it. 😊 Thanks to Royal Caribbean International for the opportunity!
